Recreate the Look: Tessa-Jay Slight

The countdown is on. With the Summer season upon us and the Christmas break just around the corner, it’s safe to assume that your social calendar is brimming with events!

Draw some makeup inspiration from this gorgeous, summer jane iredale look that our very talented Australian Makeup Artist, Celeste Jackson, created on the beautiful Tessa-Jay Slight (blogger at Circa Now). We are loving this bronzed, smoky eyed, nude lip combination!

We think that this makeup combination will suit every festive event on your calendar and outfit for that matter; you can’t go past a silver smoky eye, flawless looking skin and a natural looking lip. Make your eyes the center of attention and just add some jewellery – Voila!

Here are Celeste’s steps on how to recreate the look at home with jane iredale.

Step 1- Prep your base

Using the Blending Brush, lightly apply your Smooth Affair for Oily Skin Facial Primer and Brightener. You’ll be amazed how far this primer will go; you only need a little bit! The product’s revolutionary PoreAwayTM technology will create an ideal makeup canvas and will help fight shine (an essential for a photo finish!).

Step 2- Complexion

Using your DreamTint Tinted Moisturiser in Medium or Medium/Dark (depending on your skin tone), use your Blending Brush to lightly apply your tinted moisturiser. Starting along your cheekbone, work the product from up to your jawline upwards. Tip: Never start applying foundation at your forehead, as the product won’t spread far enough and is likely to get stuck along your hair line. When starting your application, often a large portion of the product will be distributed on your first point of skin contact, so try starting on your lower cheek, near the ear, blending up and outwards for an even finish.

Step 3- Become a bronzed beauty!

Celeste says that the secret behind a gorgeous, bronzed glow is mixing up your bronzing powders. For Tessa, she started by lightly brushing the Quad Bronzer, in Moonglow onto her cheeks, eyes and lips with the White Fan Brush. To contour her cheeks, she used the Chisel Powder Brush to apply the So Bronze Bronzing Powder to add depth to her face and accentuate her cheekbones.

Step 4- Those smoky eyes….

Line the upper and lower lash line with the Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner in black and let dry. Smudge lightly to soften the edges. Using a sponge, press your Eye Shere Liquid Eye shadow in Grey Silk onto the eyelid, smudging lightly along the lower lash line. Using an Eye Shader Brush, press the Steamy PurePressed Eye Shadow onto the outer half of your eyelid, blending towards the crease of your eye. Blend well with a brush to soften any lines and finish off with a good coating of Longest Lash Mascara in black.

Step 5- Pucker up

Nude shades are on everyone’s lips this season! Start with your Lip Pencil in the Spice shade to outline the shape of your lips. This will make them appear fuller and larger while adding definition! Fill in your lips with Buff LipDrink or use a tiny swipe of Forever Pink Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain to add a light pink flush to your lips. This will give you a semi matte nude lip finish. Another nude favourite is Lip Fixation in Craving, finished with a PureGloss Lip Gloss in Soft Peach, giving you more of a gloss/wet looking lip. The choice is yours.
