Makeup for sensitive skin
The jane iredale range is suitable for sensitive skin, as our entire collection of clean beauty products are free from irritants. The brand was developed for skin that was at its most sensitive, so when you choose jane iredale products you can rest assured that your makeup will not aggravate or flare up existing sensitivities.
We have eliminated the top three sensitisers from our makeup, so there is no synthetic fragrance, no petroleum-based colourants and no synthetic preservatives. We've also tested every product for sensitivity on a 50-person test panel in a laboratory. Individuals with extreme chemical sensitivities can wear our makeup successfully.
Each of our foundation formulas are carefully crafted with ingredients that help to soothe, hydrate, and protect, making them ideal for different skin concerns including sensitive skin, problematic skin, oily skin, and dry skin. Explore our skin-loving mineral foundations below.

Our Product Testing
Comedogenicity
All of our products, except for lip and eye makeup, have undergone comedogenicity testing and shown to be non-comedogenic. Non-comedogenic products are less likely to clog pores and cause acne and are more suitable for sensitive skin.
Voluntary Testing
We voluntarily test our products for irritancy and sensitivity using the Human Repeat Insult Patch Test (HRIPT). The claims we can make are: Dermatologist Tested. Non-irritating. Safety Tested. Allergy Tested. Clinically Tested. Hypoallergenic.
Heavy Metal Testing
We test our products for heavy metals, including lead and mercury, and more recently, nickel due to increased concern of nickel related allergies. If any trace amounts of heavy metals are detected they are below permissible levels.
What causes
Skin Sensitivities?
Skin sensitivity can be an isolated occurrence. However, in some cases it can be an ongoing issue caused by skin conditions such as rosacea or eczema. We all have sensitive skin at one point or another and some may experience increased sensitivity during winter due to the cooler temperatures, and other environmental factors. The good news is that there are several things you can do to help minimise abnormal skin reactions and using clean, skin-loving cosmetics will be a skin saviour!
