100% cruelty-free clean makeup
Jane Iredale is a proud, cruelty-free makeup brand, certified as such by PETA and the Leaping Bunny, organisations that protect the rights of innocent animals.
The Jane Iredale cruelty-free makeup pledge supports our approach to creating responsible, healthy beauty. We do not sell any products that require animal testing in markets either. When purchasing from Jane Iredale you can be confident in knowing that you are purchasing from a brand that cares for their customers, the environment and our furry little friends. Jane Iredale is proud to be animal friendly, always.
Mineral makeup with vegan options
If you are looking for vegan-friendly and cruelty-free makeup, you will be pleased to know that most of the Jane Iredale makeup range is suitable for vegans, including our entire collection of mineral foundations and makeup brushes, which spans 25 brush options. To make it easy for you to identify which products are vegan feel free to browse this page, which contains a list of all vegan-friendly Jane Iredale products.
During product development, Jane looks for clean, premium ingredients to ensure all products and formulas live up to a high quality. In some cases, where there wasn’t a superior ingredient to achieve the desired outcome and to avoid compromising the quality of the formula, non-vegan-friendly ingredients are sometimes used. One example of this is Carmine, which is used in some of our bronzers, eye shadow shades, lip and eye products as a colourant. Carmine is not vegan-friendly as it is derived from a bug, however we are moving away from using this ingredient as much as possible by looking for clean and ethical alternatives. Vegan-conscious consumers will also want to avoid our products that contain beeswax, royal jelly or lanolin. Click here for a full list of products to avoid. Each product listing on our website also contains a tab where you can check if it is vegan and it will list exactly which shades are/aren’t vegan and what the non-vegan ingredient is.
