Cruelty-Free Makeup

We are committed to cruelty-free beauty

Our Cruelty-Free Makeup Pledge

When Jane started her beauty line it was important for her to be mindful about its impact on our environment and the community. That is why jane iredale is a certified cruelty-free cosmetics brand, recognised by both Leaping Bunny and PETA for our voluntary commitment to no animal testing at every stage of product development and manufacturing.

This pledge to cruelty-free makeup has always been at the core of our brand. We believe it is an essential element in our holistic approach to creating responsible, healthy beauty.

Compassion for Animals

Being an animal-friendly skin care and cruelty-free makeup brand means we believe that testing our products and ingredients on animals is cruel and unnecessary. Our commitment to no animal testing includes not allowing third-party animal testing for product registration purposes. We also do not sell our products in markets where testing on animals is required.

What does it mean to be a Cruelty-Free Cosmetic Brand?

Cruelty-free cosmetic brands do not test their products or ingredients on animals and actively ensure that this is maintained. Science has surpassed the need for animal testing and there are far more efficient ways to test makeup.

The Leaping Bunny Standard

The cute Leaping Bunny logo you see on jane iredale products is your guarantee that we are certified 100% cruelty-free by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC), a respected alliance of eight international animal protection groups who together created the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals, a voluntary pledge that companies make against animal testing. CCIC’s spirited Leaping Bunny logo helps concerned consumers worldwide easily identify cruelty-free makeup brands.

Are Cruelty-Free Makeup Products Vegan?

Not always. While all jane iredale products are proudly cruelty-free, PETA and Leaping Bunny certified with an extensive vegan range, including our makeup brushes, few of our products contain, beeswax, royal jelly and carmine.

What jane iredale value most is ingredients that are clean, good for the skin and cause no harm to the planet. In few instances animal-derived ingredients have been used over a chemical alternative to ensure the products are clean and performance-focused. All products are clearly listed with ingredients lists whether they are vegan-friendly.
