Achieve a Striking Sunset Makeup Look

This Sunset makeup tutorial is a beautiful tribute to the vibrant colours of a sunset. The key element of this look is the detail around the eyes! It emulates the stunning hues of a setting sun, using shades of peach, coral, and shimmering metallics from our two NEW PurePressed Eye Shadow Triples in the Ready to Bloom 30th Anniversary Collection. Two gradient blushes further enhance the warmth of the look. Defined brows, voluminous lashes, and peachy lips complete the sunset-inspired ensemble. We break down the steps to create this look below.

Step 1: Prime

To create a flawless base, you can begin by applying the Smooth Affair Brightening Face Primer. This will help to smooth out your skin's texture and extend the wear of your makeup. Dispense a small amount of the Smooth Affair Brightening Face Primer onto your finger and dot it evenly across your face. Using your fingers or the Blending/Contouring Brush, gently blend the primer into your skin, ensuring even coverage.

Step 2: Foundation Base

For a natural-looking complexion, dispense a pea-sized amount of the Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation onto your finger and dot it evenly around your face. To enhance hydration and blendability, lightly spritz the Blending/Contouring Brush with Hydration Spray before blending the foundation into your skin. Repeat this process to build up coverage in areas where more coverage is desired.

Step 3: Conceal

Camouflage any dark circles or blemishes by applying the PureMatch Liquid Concealer (our model uses shade 4N) using its direct doe-foot applicator. Gently tap and blend the concealer into the skin using the Foundation or Camouflage Brush, ensuring a seamless transition with the Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation. Additionally, use the concealer to prime your eyelids, creating a smooth canvas for eye shadow application.

Step 4: Eye Shadow

For a captivating eye look reminiscent of a sunset, apply the light shade "Soft Matte Peach" from the PurePressed Eye Shadow Triple Wildflower across your entire lid and blend it seamlessly into the crease. Next, using a small dense brush such as the Detail Brush, intensify the inner corner of your eyelid with the shade "Metallic Champagne" from the PurePressed Eye Shadow Triple Honeysuckle.

Layering with the 24-Karat Gold Shimmer adds an exquisite sparkle. Repeat this process with the shade "Metallic Coral" on the centre of your lid. To deepen the outer corner, apply "Matte Chocolate" from the Wildflower palette and layer with "Soft Earthy Brown" from the Honeysuckle palette for added dimension and shimmer. Blend the shades seamlessly using the first shade, “Soft Matte Peach”, with the Crease Brush. Extend this blending shade, flared and outwards towards the temples in a soft, angled direction; this will shortly seamlessly connect with the blush application. Extend the same shades in the same order to the lower lash line for a cohesive look.

Step 5: Blush

Enhance your cheeks with the gradient effect of a sunset. Begin using PurePressed Blush in Velvet Petal as a bronzer, applying it in a 'c' shape around the edges of your face and temples, leaving the centre of the cheek clear. Layer PurePressed Blush in Flourish for added warmth and dimension to the centre of the cheek, blending it seamlessly with Velvet Petal using the Dome Brush. This technique creates a beautiful sunset-inspired flush, with deeper tones framing the face and lighter shades illuminating the cheeks.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Frame your eyes by brushing and shaping your brows with PureBrow Brow Gel (Model uses Medium Brown). For voluminous lashes, apply Beyond Lash Volumizing Mascara to your top and bottom lashes, starting at the base and wiggling the wand upwards for maximum impact.

Step 7: Lips

Complete your sunset-inspired look by defining your lips with Lip Pencil in Peach. Add a natural flush of colour with Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain in Forever Peach, then enhance with HydroPure Lip Gloss in Summer Peach for a luminous, shimmery finish.

Complete the look with a spritz of Hydration Spray to set your makeup and keep it fresh and radiant all day. This final step locks in your makeup and helps hydrate and revitalise your skin, leaving you feeling confident and glowing.
