I learned about Jane Ireland smooth affair marrying face primer from Chat GPT. I have photosensitive skin and my regular cosmetics were irritating my skin. This product is ideal for me because it is alcohol free and has a mineral base. The “Try It On” technique gave me the correct shade to match my complexion and it looks great on me!

I have been using this since it came out and always love the results.

I really like Smooth Affair Mattifying Primer. I use it over my moisturizer and before I put on the Amazing Base Mineral Powder. It helps the powder go on smoother and more evenly. Furthermore, I don’t get as much shine when I use the primer. I have rosacea, and it does not irritate my skin.

However, I lost lots of the product the first couple of times I used it because the bottle built up pressure and spit out tons of the primer into my hands. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time getting that extra product back into the bottle :(

Best product for minimizing uneven skin texture! This is better than powder because this is lightweight and invisible. Pricey but lasts a long time & it’s worth every penny.

I love Jane iredale products and have been using the mineral foundation for years. I recently wanted to try this out as I do still get a bit shiny after half a day of the mineral foundation. I do have quite oily skin and thought this would be perfect but it just doesn’t work for me. It has a very runny and watery consistency which I did not expect, it came out way too much just from gravity. It does make the make up stay matte a little longer but it also made my makeup looked pretty flaky. I only used it for a week and decided that it’s not for me. It’s pretty expensive to have a bottle of it sitting right at the back of the shelf .

It feels great on my skin. It's a smooth base for my foundation that does a great job at controlling the typically oily spots throughout my day.

My favorite thing about this besides the fact that it does what it’s supposed to is that I don’t feel like I’m wearing primer. My skin doesn’t feel greasier and it helps keep me shine free. Excellent.

I wear this product over my moisturizer before applying my loose powder foundation. The result is a smooth matte soft finish and even color. Love it.

First time to ever use primer and it makes my face look very smooth and calm the redness

This primer works nicely. Dries quickly. Lightweight. Helps with the oil control. I use it up to my under eye area. Sometimes I'll use the BB cream or pressed powder over the top. Keeps the foundation on!

I love this product! My only issue is that, when traveling, the container leaked a bit in my makeup bag.

I love Smooth Affair Mattifying Face Primer. My makeup lasts all day and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. But I hate the container it comes in. The primer is liquid instead of a cream and comes out too quickly when you go to apply it - causing you to waste expensive primer. I store the product lid side up to try and have less mess. It would be awesome if jane iredale created a better container for this primer. Then it would be a five star product.

I don’t like the way it smells, it def helps with shine. I’d rather the other primer for smell and deal with shine though. I’d recommend it if you aren’t smell sensitive, I’ll most likely go back to the other primer.

I love this product. I usually buy from Jane Iredale because I feel safe with their ingredients. This does not disappoint. The free shipping doesn’t hurt either.

I like this because it's matte and that's how I like all my make up due to T zone oil but it's super runny and comes out fast...I've enjoyed the illuminating primer more which I think I'll go back to because it provides the glow and is easier to use :)

LOVE the brightening primer, but I get a lot of oil after a few hours so I was looking for an alternative. Was nervous to take the plunge for this Mattifying one; would have loved to try a sample/tester size first.
It is definitely mattifying (somehow!)! Just as good of a base as the brightening one.
It has an orange tinge straight out of the bottle but blends in transparent. It has a different smell to the Brightening concealer. It’s not overpowering but it’s definitely there.
I don’t think my skin is as “glowy” when I use this, but that’s the price of combatting the oil produced throughout the day
